🤝 The Five British Values

British Values are the shared principles that help people from all backgrounds live and work together safely, fairly and respectfully. Throughout this course you will explore what each value means and how it shows up in everyday working life.

🗳️ Democracy ⚖️ The rule of law 🕊️ Individual liberty 🤝 Mutual respect 🌍 Tolerance of different faiths and beliefs

🗳️ Democracy – everyone has a voice and can take part in decisions.

⚖️ The Rule of Law – laws apply equally to everyone and protect us all.

🕊️ Individual Liberty – the freedom to make your own choices within the law.

🤝 Mutual Respect – treating others with dignity, even when views differ.

🌍 Tolerance of Different Faiths and Beliefs – accepting and respecting people of all faiths and none.

🛡️ What is Prevent?

Prevent is part of the UK Government's counter-terrorism strategy. Its aim is to safeguard people from being drawn into terrorism or extremism by spotting concerns early and offering the right support. Prevent is about protecting people, in the same way we would safeguard anyone at risk of harm.

💡 Need support? If you are ever worried about yourself or someone else, don't keep it to yourself. Speak to your Development Coach or the City Skills Safeguarding Team as soon as possible. If someone is in immediate danger, call 999.
