Understanding Student Progress

๐Ÿ“ˆ Understanding Student Progress

Student Progress helps you see exactly where you are in your apprenticeship, whatโ€™s been completed, and what needs your attention.

๐Ÿ“Œ What youโ€™ll learn

How to understand your progress, what the different statuses mean, and what actions to take next.

๐Ÿง  What is Student Progress?

Student Progress gives you a clear overview of your learning across all courses.

It shows what you have completed, what is waiting for marking, and what still needs to be done.

๐Ÿ“Š Your progress overview

Each module shows a single overall status based on the work inside it. The system always shows your highest priority issue first:

๐Ÿ”ด Referred

If any part of the module has been referred, the whole module will show as Referred.

๐ŸŸ  Pending

If there are no referrals, but some work is waiting for marking, the module will show as Pending.

๐Ÿ”ต Not completed

If there are no referrals or pending work, but some tasks have not been started, the module will show as Not completed.

๐ŸŸข Approved

If all tasks in the module have been completed and passed, the module will show as Approved.

๐ŸŽจ What the colours mean

  • Green โ€“ Approved
  • Blue โ€“ Not yet attempted
  • Amber โ€“ Submitted, waiting for marking
  • Red โ€“ Referred, needs action

Green ticks mean you have attempted the task, not necessarily passed it. Always check Student Progress for the full status.

๐Ÿ›  How to use Student Progress

1๏ธโƒฃ Check your overview

Start by reviewing your overall progress to see where you stand.

2๏ธโƒฃ Open your courses

Click into each course to explore modules and individual activities.

3๏ธโƒฃ Focus on amber and red

Prioritise work that is pending or referred to keep progressing.

4๏ธโƒฃ Track your improvement

Use Student Progress regularly to monitor your development and stay on track.

โžก๏ธ What should you do next?

  • If red โ†’ Review feedback and resubmit
  • If amber โ†’ Wait for feedback and be ready to act
  • If blue โ†’ Start the task
  • If green โ†’ Keep progressing

โš ๏ธ Common mistake: Ignoring referred work or leaving pending tasks too long. This is how learners fall behind.

๐Ÿ’ก Top tip: Check Student Progress regularly. Small actions taken early will keep you on track and avoid bigger issues later.
