Student Dashboard – Portfolio
💼 Student Dashboard – Portfolio
Your Portfolio is where you store and organise evidence that supports your apprenticeship journey. This evidence may be used during your end-point assessment and helps demonstrate your competence against your apprenticeship standard.
📌 What you’ll learn
In this guide, you’ll learn how to access your portfolio, add evidence, submit it for review, and generate a downloadable portfolio ready for your end-point assessment organisation.
🎥 Watch the walkthrough
1️⃣ Access Portfolio
Scroll approximately halfway down your Student Dashboard and click the briefcase icon to open the Portfolio section.
This area stores evidence that demonstrates your competence throughout your apprenticeship.
2️⃣ Understand the purpose of your portfolio
Your portfolio plays an important role in your end-point assessment (EPA).
Depending on your apprenticeship standard, the portfolio may:
- Support a professional discussion
- Provide evidence for assessment activities
- Act as a standalone portfolio of evidence
- Demonstrate your competence against the apprenticeship standard
🎯 The aim is to build a strong collection of evidence throughout your programme rather than leaving everything until gateway.
3️⃣ Add evidence to your portfolio
To upload a new piece of portfolio evidence:
- Select your apprenticeship programme
- Choose the KSBs, competencies, or assessment criteria the evidence covers
- Add a clear evidence title
- Write a detailed rationale explaining how the evidence demonstrates the selected criteria
- Optionally upload supporting files
- Click Submit Evidence
💡 The more detail you provide in your rationale, the easier it is for your Development Coach to understand how the evidence demonstrates competence.
4️⃣ Development Coach review
Once submitted, your evidence enters the review process.
🟠 Pending
Evidence remains pending until your Development Coach reviews it.
✅ Approved
The evidence is added to your portfolio and linked to the selected competencies.
🔄 Declined
Your Development Coach will explain why the evidence was not suitable and guide you on how to improve and resubmit it.
5️⃣ Add evidence directly from Submissions
You do not always need to upload evidence manually.
Existing work submitted through MyPortfolio can also be added directly into your portfolio.
- Open the Submissions section
- Find the relevant piece of work
- Click Add to Portfolio
- Select the relevant competencies or KSBs
- Provide a rationale
- Submit for review
📚 This is often the quickest way to build your portfolio because the evidence already exists within the system.
6️⃣ Download your portfolio
Once evidence has been approved, you can download your portfolio as a ZIP file ready for your End-Point Assessment Organisation (EPAO).
Simply click:
📦 Download All as ZIP
The ZIP file contains:
- A portfolio summary file
- Your name
- The portfolio download date
- The number of evidence documents included
- All approved evidence files
- Associated descriptions and competency mappings
💡 Top tip: Regularly adding evidence to your portfolio throughout your apprenticeship will make gateway preparation significantly easier and help ensure you have evidence against all required competencies.
