Messaging in MyPortfolio helps you stay connected with your Development Coach, peers, and group. This guide shows you how to connect, send messages, and use group chat effectively.

🤝 Connecting with someone
- Go to Groups
- Open your group to view members
- Click Connect next to the person’s name
- Wait for them to approve your connection request ⏳
💡 Tip: You must be connected with someone before you can send them a direct message.
✉️ Sending a direct message
- Go to Messages in the left-hand menu
- Click Compose or the new message icon
- Type the recipient’s name (they must be a connection)
- Write your message clearly using good spelling and grammar
- Optional: Add emojis 😊, formatting (bold/italic), links, or code
- Click Send
📥 Viewing your messages
- Go to Messages > Inbox
- View messages from your coach, peers, or group chats
- Click on a conversation to read and reply
👥 Using group chat
- Go to Groups > My Groups
- Select your learning group or cohort
- Click the Group Chat button
- Start or join discussions with your group
ℹ️ Important: All messages are tracked and may be reviewed throughout your course, so keep communication professional and respectful.
