At City Skills, we’re here to make sure you have the support you need—whether it’s your first time asking for help or you’ve had support before. This guide shows how we can help you feel confident, capable, and ready to succeed.
At City Skills, we believe every learner deserves the chance to succeed—regardless of any learning difficulty, disability, or health condition. Whether you’ve had support before, think you might need it now, or have never needed it in the past, we’re here to make sure you feel confident, comfortable, and fully supported throughout your apprenticeship.
Learning support isn’t just about extra help—it’s about giving you the tools, space, and confidence to do your best work. We want you to feel empowered, not labelled.
Our promise: We’ll meet you where you are, and walk with you from there.
A learning need can be anything that makes it harder for you to learn, concentrate, communicate, or take part fully in your apprenticeship.
You don’t need a formal diagnosis to talk to us. If something’s getting in the way of your learning, we want to know—so we can help.
Some common examples include:
The bottom line? If you’re struggling, tell us. It’s our job to support you.
We make it easy and relaxed to let us know about a learning difficulty, disability or health condition.
During enrolment, just tick the box or speak to us. Not sure? No problem—we can talk it through.
Speak to your development coach any time. We can arrange a friendly one-to-one with our SEN team.
If you say no to support, we’ll respect that—and check in from time to time in case things change.
We won’t judge. We’re simply here to help.
A relaxed 1:1 chat to explore what’s working, what’s not, and what might help.
We’ll create a tailored plan and, with your permission, share it with your coach or employer.
Monthly SEN sessions are there for advice, strategies, or a wellbeing check-in.
We’ll liaise with awarding bodies and EPAOs to arrange assessment adjustments.
Start support, pause it, change it—whenever you like.
Monthly one-hour sessions are tailored to what you need most. Here’s what they might include:
You’re in control. We’re here to help.
Support is discreet, practical, and always personalised.
We help you apply for reasonable adjustments, including:
We handle the application process and ensure everything is in place—so you can focus on doing your best.
We help gather and submit the right evidence – write support summaries if no diagnosis is available – liaise directly with EPAOs to arrange adjustments – review and update your plan as needed.
We’re your advocate throughout the process.
Employers can: encourage open conversations – offer adjustments like flexible breaks or alternative communication methods – work with us to understand support plans – provide accessible venues for assessments.
It’s about small changes that make a big difference.
You’re always in control of your support.
Need support or want to talk it through?
“Your apprenticeship is about progress, not perfection. Whatever your journey looks like, we’re here to walk it with you.”

I’ve recently completed my Level 3 Team Leader / Supervisor Apprenticeship with City Skills Limited and I’m proud to say I achieved a Distinction. My coach, Anthony Hari, has been fantastic throughout the entire programme. He provided clear guidance, valuable feedback, and genuine encouragement at every stage. His support helped me not only understand the theory but also apply it directly to real workplace projects, which made the learning truly meaningful. The structure and resources from City Skills were easy to follow, and the feedback process was always timely and constructive. I always felt supported and motivated to aim for the highest standard. I would highly recommend City Skills Limited and Anthony Hari to anyone looking to complete a management or leadership apprenticeship — their professionalism, patience, and dedication genuinely make a difference.Posted on Daniel LaneTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I am currently enrolled onto the L5 Learning and Development Consultant apprenticeship and really enjoying the course so far. The content is rich and I find the teaching style really engaging and accessible. The taught elements have helped me to develop my skills, particularly in designing learning interventions and facilitation, which I'm reaping the benefits of in my current role. I can't recommend City Skills enough!Posted on C SmithTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I have just finished my L5 CIPD People Professional Apprenticeship with City Skills and was awarded a distinction! None of this would have been possible without the advice and support from my tutor, Jim Blythe, who was fantastic from start to finish. I have previously done the L3 Apprenticeship through City Skills with Jim and specifically wanted to be in the cohort he was teaching . Thanks Jim for everything :-)Posted on Jemma BennettTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I am currently completing my CIPD People Professional apprenticeship with City Skills and have been impressed with coordination and teaching throughout the course. I am in the final 6-8 months of study, my tutor has been a great support with engaging classroom content on a fortnightly basis, and regular review meetings. The assignment support is very useful and I know my development coach is available if any extra support is needed. The process for completing the apprenticeship has been straightforward and explained throughout and we regularly visit the course expectations. I am enjoying completing the course and am glad I chose City Skills to do this with.Posted on chris scottTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.
